Colloquium at Byurakan Astrophysical Observatory
- 15 May 2023
On May 1-5 of this year, after a long, 10-year break, a traditional joint colloquium of the Byurakan and Abastumni observatories dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Armenian astrophysicist Ludwig Mirzoyan was held at the Byurakan Astrophysical Observatory (Armenia).
A delegation of 10 persons from the Abastumni Astrophysical Observatory took part in the symposium. The meeting was distinguished by high-level scientific reports, excellent organisation and friendly hospitality - a very interesting cultural programme.
It was decided to restore the tradition, the foundation of which was laid in 1974 by academicians V. Ambartsumian and E. Kharadze and joint colloquiums will be held every year. In order to support the said colloquia, a corresponding website has been created.
The next colloquium will be held in 2024 at the Abastumni Astrophysical Observatory in Georgia.
